On Perfectionism

Gustave Flaubert, author of Madame Bovary and a notorious perfectionist
who once wrote a friend that he had spent three days making two corrections
and five days writing one page, had this to say on the topic:

“A passion for perfection makes you hate anything that comes close to it”
«La passion de la perfection vous fait détester même ce qui en approche.»
