A Man and His Thoughts

100 x 70 cm (39.5 x 27.5 inches)

I’ve been meaning to post this drawing for months now. It was done in the Spring term of 2011 for an Expressive Figure Drawing class. The only thing holding me back was that I was wanting to explain the process that the instructor took us through to arrive at the final image, because it was a fascinating experience with a model who has loads of experience and is inspiring to work with. But in the end, I’ve decided not to divulge the ‘secret’ because it’s just simpler that way. After all, a chef doesn’t reveal all his recipes, so why should an artist, or even an artist-in-the-making do so?
